In-school Chess Championship will start in 2011.
Chess Club will meet after school on Wednesdays.
Chess is also an option in the new 6th form Enrichment Activity period.
Library Club: Library Club will meet for the first meeting of the new school year on Monday 13th Sept. We welcome all interested yr9s. E-Reader: The Library now owns an e-reader for use by students and staff in the library- come and try it out and/or suggest possible e-books. We have 87 books loaded already so a wide choice is available. Suggestion for New Books- If any student or member of staff would like to recommend items for the library, please send an email to Miss Dixon or come into the library and ask. Recommended Reads: Adult: Heir of Redclyffe- Charlotte M Yonge A Victorian moral story for the summer Student: Book of a Thousand Days- Shannon Hale
With more than 16 000 items in our library with an issue rate currently running at over 300 items a week, the library is central to the teaching and learning in the school. We are open:Monday 8:10 – 4:00 (Library Club 3:00-4:00) Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8:10-5:00 Friday: 8:10-4:00 Games available for before school, after school, break and lunchtime include:Chess, Space Faces, Colour Code, Da Vinci Code, Telephone Talkers, Draughts, Boggle & Scrabble.
