Talent Development Camp 2009

The most talented young sportsmen and women across our Baylink Schools all came together in July for our third annual Talent Development Camp at Sandown High school. The aim of the camp is to really allow the students to explore and reflect on the various strategies and sciences involved in maximising their sporting potential. Generic sessions in sports injury prevention, nutrition, sponsorship, core stability, physical competence and a motivational workshop with Nick Gillingham MBE, were complimented by sports-specific sessions across the wide of sports represented –from golf to ice hockey!

Students commented afterwards how beneficial it had been to work with like-minded athletes from different sports and schools. They felt they learnt a lot about different aspects of sport and had some clear ideas about how to realise their potential.

A big thank you to Mrs Page, Co-ordinator of Gifted and Talented in PE, for organising the event and to all our guest coaches.
