Sport and PE within our Baylink Schools
There is much evidence to suggest a clear improvement in standards in PE and school sport in our Baylink schools over the last five years.
- Congratulations in particular to our ‘Caymen Island’ team who won the IOW Primary games!
Winning three (Rugby, Basketball and cycling) out of the seven main tournaments and performing consistently high in all other sports, resulted in a landmark victory. This was a real testament to the dedication of both coaches and athletes. Following selection at the very successful Baylink Olympics, 80 year 3/4 pupils trained weekly together in seven different sports, to ensure that winning combination.
- Through the support of the Sandown School partnership, the School Sports Co-ordinators (SSCOs) of Jon Miselbach and Gavin Oldridge, continue to develop high quality PE working closely with the Primary Link teachers (PLTs).
All schools work closely together and with local clubs to improve the opportunities, provision and experience of every child.
- Dance expertise is offered for the first time this year by Miss Claire Gregory, our specialist link teacher (SLT) who is working energetically to promote dance for both boys and girls within our schools.
