Celebrating Success
The Rewards System at Sandown High School
|
| The ethos of ‘Be Your Best’ is complimented by a strong culture of celebration, underpinned by a successful rewards programme which recognises not only attainment and progress but also attendance, involvement, commitment and active citizenship. |
| All students keep an Achievement file to collect the various forms of certification in the form of: |
- Credit Awards (ranging from Form tutor to Governors Award)
- Subject certificates for Progress or Achievement
- Additional accreditations
- Event/ activity –specific certificates
|
| Students may also receive: |
- Badges for various awards
- HMV/ Waterstones Gift Vouchers for top tariff scheme scorers in each house
- Top students within each house and the top form in the school are rewarded by a free day out to a theme park each year!
|
| Termly House assemblies provide a formal opportunity to say well done to so many and these culminate each summer with a Celebration day. (Last July we welcomed Disabled Alpine Skier Talan Steels-Piggins for the day, and one could not help but be moved by his remarkable story, which was both humbling and inspiring.) |
| Annual formal presentation evenings for years 9, 11 and the sixth form, take place throughout the year and these celebrate the very best in each subject area or house activities. |
| Dates for this year: |
|
Year 11 Presentation evening: Thursday 3rd December
Sixth form Presentation evening: Thursday 17th December
Year 9 Presentation evening: TBA
