Study Skills
The study skills course is aimed at those pupils we feel would find difficulty completing the full range of academic subjects and options.
The course consists of:
- Support of the pupil’s curriculum, i.e., GCSE’s, Unit Award.
- Support of individual pupils covering basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ongoing vocational and career advice and guidance
This is a non-examination option limited to those pupils we believe would benefit most, educationally, from the extra support. Pupils will be counselled as to whether this would be an appropriate option for them.The course is offered on the recommendations of the SENCo and the Head of Year. Students we consider suitable will receive a letter with their option booklet.The Special Educational Needs Department will be pleased to discuss this option in detail and provide further guidance and advice as to the appropriateness of choosing this particular course. |
